Community resources play a vital role in supporting local families by providing access to essential services, programs and networks that foster well-being. These resources such as food banks, mental health support and educational programs, help families navigate challenges and improve quality of life. 

“The Barrie Food Bank’s mission is to provide food relief at no cost to individuals and families of our community who are in need, and to support them on their journey towards well-being. Our policies are designed to achieve this mandate. Of those who come to us for assistance, we strive to demonstrate compassion and respect for their dignity, and to serve as a source of encouragement.”

“If you are a woman living in an abusive relationship or think you might be, you can call our crisis line at 705-728-2544 and speak with a counsellor. The crisis line is available 24-hours, seven days a week. If you are concerned about your immediate safety or the safety of your children, call 911.”

“We provide peer to peer support for children between the ages of 5 and 24 years, and their caregivers who are grieving the death of an immediate family member.”
