Enjoy the sweet taste of spring at the second annual Sweet Maple Festval! Organized by Georgian College Event Management students, the event includes a vendor fair, pancake breakfast with a topping station, and exciting activities for kids. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Barrie Food Bank and the Georgian FoodLocker to help combat food insecurity in our region. There is a small fee for the pancake breakfast ($7) and all other activities are free to attend. Please bring a non-perishable food donation to access a new Zoo to You experience.

In acknowledgement of Mental Health Awareness Month in May and Children’s Mental Health Week during the first week of May, the MacLaren Art Centre is excited to partner with New Path Youth and Family Services to host two workshops for families, so they can create vibrant prints together! Guided by regional artist Katherine Fievet, families will explore shapes and symbols—and incorporate the colour green— to create a three-colour stamped print that visually represents themes of growth, hope and transformation.

Hooves & Feathers Petting Farm

Our petting farm experience is an experience like no other. You get to dive right into interacting with the animals as you will be greeted by our free range goats & sheep. The small herd roam freely in the barnyard enjoying naps in the sunshine and unlimited hay. You will also find our laying hens & ducks partaking in a similar activity as they are also free range. You will be able to pet, brush and feed the goats, chickens, pigs without barriers or fences between you! Grab a brush from the basket inside the barn and enjoy!

Fee includes: Train & wagon ride, Easter Egg Hunt, and treat bags for participating children. Also includes two live shows: the Pick Pocket Magician and Zoo Tek, an educational interactive exotic animal experience. We encourage you to bring your camera for photos with the animals to share on Facebook and Instagram! To Participate in the Easter Egg Hunts:

• Register at the Evergreen Store 30 minutes prior to your hunt
  (Hunts go out at 9am, 11am, 1pm, and 3pm)
• Wagons will load between The Evergreen Store and Santa’s House
• When the wagons arrive in the hunt area, please wait until all wagons have completely stopped before exiting
• Coloured plastic eggs have been distributed throughout the designated hunt area. Due to environmental concerns, children’s safety, and to deter competition, candy or chocolate are not placed outside. All participating children who paid for admission, regardless of how many eggs are collected, receive a treat bag at the end.
